  • 在棒球比賽,球隊會收集對手情報作分析,尤其投球內容對於情報分析是最關鍵的資訊,然而比賽轉播中還包含了其他鏡頭,如守備、場邊觀眾、打者熱身等,使得收集投球資訊是一件困難的工作。在這篇論文中,我們提出了一個新的方法,以球速偵測和motion degree偵測為基礎,把batter-to-batter影片壓縮成pitch-by-pitch影片。我們即可藉由pitch-by-pitch影片快速的作投球內容分析。實驗結果顯示從batter-to-batter影片壓縮成pitch-by-pitch影片後的資料量非常的低又可以保留正確且完整的投球過程,與現有的方法比較之下更為robust且更有效率。


    The use of statistical analysis in baseball games for scouting, team management, and, most importantly, winning games has become very popular over the past decade. Among all baseball statistics, pitching is one of the most important information. However, in a baseball broadcasting game, there are lots superfluous scenes, such as defense, audience, and warn-up shots. These superfluous scenes cause collecting pitching information in a baseball game to be a difficult task. In this work, we propose an efficient algorithm, based on the detection of ball speed and pitcher's motion degree, to extract pitch-by-pitch segments from a batter-to-batter video. The experimental results show that our proposed method is able to extract all pitch views accurately and hence is perfect for pitching view analysis.
