  • The banking sector is experiencing a breakthrough because of the development of Fintech. Consumers now have greater access to financial services thanks to the development of new business models. Experts believe that Taiwan, in particular, is over banking and that to establish its uniqueness and competitive advantages and create successful and long-lasting businesses, banks must keep trying more than ever. Financial Supervisory Commission released relevant regulations and permitted to set up of Internet-only banks to assist banks in keeping up with the trend of digitalization and taking advantage of business opportunities, as well as to encourage more financial innovation and deepen financial inclusion. The introduction of LINE Bank in February 2021, featuring practical and cutting-edge goods and services, significantly influenced Taiwan's banking industry.
    This case study is used to analyze the development and opportunity of Internet-only banks in Taiwan as well as banking industry, business strategies, regulations, risk management of LINE Bank in Taiwan. Information in this study is come from interviewing the authorized persons in LINE Bank. The authorized individuals in LINE Bank were interviewed for this study. To do this, data were analyzed using Creswell's (2013) Data Analysis Spiral approach generated from interviews with professors and researchers in a semi-structured style.
    The findings will provide practitioners of the new Internet-only banks' strategic direction for attracting new clients and give risk management and compliance operations the same weight as their conventional rivals to protecting the financial system's stability and safeguard client interests.
