  • 本研究主要探討企業之社會責任與財務績效之互動關聯性,同時驗證R&D投入是否扮演中介角色。本文實證分析主要根據Baron and Kenny (1986)提出之中介驗證模式,採用2007年到2012年台灣上市企業為研究樣本。實證結果發現,台灣上市企業的社會責任行為與其財務績效存在顯著的正向相互影響效果。並進一步發現,企業社會責任會透過R&D之中介影響其財務績效表現。故本研究認為,企業實行企業社會責任,並結合各項R&D創新計劃,幫助提升企業財務表現及創造獨特競爭能力。


    This study analyzes the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance for the public listed companies in Taiwan, and the effect of a firm's research and development (R&D) intensity in mediating the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance. The corporate social responsibility performance rating data are taken from Common Wealth Magazine. The empirical results confirm that there is an obvious positive relationship between CSR and financial performance. In addition, CSR has positive influences on R&D, and after controlling for R&D, the impact of CSR on financial performance are reduced. Thus, R&D intensity plays as a mediator of the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance.
