目前伺服器中的佈線設計需透過使用者於3D設計軟體建立大量的參考特徵以及反覆調整特徵參數進行模擬,接著利用完成的傳輸線CAD模型判斷設計上的合理性,確保傳輸線能順利通過伺服器內的空間狹窄處。為了提升佈線設計之效率以及避免設計結果與預期不符,本研究透過二次開發工具Creo Toolkit建立一套伺服器佈線系統,預先檢測佈線設計的可行性,並自動化建立佈線設計所需的特徵,以減少使用者操作步驟。
本研究開發之伺服器佈線系統是以矩形排列最佳化方式確保欲進行佈線設計的傳輸線能通過伺服器內的空間狹窄處,並透過Creo Toolkit與本研究提出之避開障礙的機制幫助使用者快速建立路徑點、佈線路徑與傳輸線模型,同時提供動態調整功能,應付佈線設計過程中常有的設計變更,最後利用3D幾何模型中的線長資訊,從資料庫篩選出可用的傳輸線型號,完成佈線設計之工作。
本論文除了說明佈線路徑的建立原理與避開障礙的機制外,並以伺服器中常用的傳輸線類型(圓線、扁線與多接頭傳輸線)作為實例,進行佈線模擬與建立實體模型,驗證所開發系統的實用性。
The typical process of cable routing for a computer server relies on the user to set up the reference geometry and constantly adjust parameters in 3D CAD software. The 3D CAD model is then used to examine the routing design to prevent the interference during assembly. In order to improve the design efficiency and avoid the unpredictable consequence, this study establishes a Creo Toolkit-based server cable routing system to inspect the routing design before creating cable’s 3D CAD model, and automatically set up necessary geometric features to reduce user’s operations.
The server cable routing system ensures the cables can pass through narrow space inside a server by optimal allocation of cable areas in a rectangle. An obstacle avoidance algorithm is also proposed and Creo Toolkit is used to implement the algorithm. The developed system allows a user to rapidly create the reference points passing through by a cable. The cabling path and cable’s 3D CAD model are then generated automatically. It also provides the function of dynamic adjustment to cope with constant design changes of cable routing. Finally, the cable length can easily be calculated by cable’s 3D CAD model, and appropriate cable types can be found from the cable database.
This thesis not only addresses the method of cable routing and the mechanism of obstacle avoidance, but also takes common cable types (round-shape cable, flat-shape cable and multi-connector cable) to implement the proposed methodology in order to verify the applicability of the developed system.
